Shown is a Chinese porcelain lidded vase, printed with a blue and white decor. Departing from a round, broad base, we see a baluster-shaped type of vase with broad shoulders, transitioning into a short cylindrical-shaped neck with a lip. The corresponding lid fits on this, which has a broad circular origin and merges into a dome-shaped structure on which a fo dog sits. The vase is printed in overglaze with a blue and white decor. The corpus is printed with valuables such as the vase, the incense burner, the two fish, the two books, the two rings, swastikas, the shell, the two horns, the linchi, scrolls, … The shoulders show a frieze of overlapping ruyi elements . The neck is printed all around with elongated leaves. The foot shows a wide band of lapet panels. The lid is also printed on the dome with valuables. The bottom, except for the foot ring, is glazed. In the center we see a four-character mark in overglaze blue. Its meaning is unknown to me. The vase probably dates from the second half of the 20th century.
Condition: some pinholes in the glaze, otherwise perfect.
