Meer informatie

Presented is a beautiful, very decorative Chinese Fo-dog in biscuit porcelain. It concerns a male dog because its left front leg rests on a spherical anjoued brocade ball. The upright seated dog is shown in profile position with head turned to the left. The open mouth shows its teeth and protruding tongue and its nostrils are open. Spiral protrusions have been made on its head, neck and back. Both ears are turned back. The front legs show an embossed pleated skin with four-clawed legs. Most prominent biscuit applied enamel colors are yellow, a light green, aubergine and black. The dog sits on a high rectangular pedestal painted in aubergine. The dog wears an aubergine color collar with a green amulet on his neck. The surface has a thin layer of transparent lead glaze. The statue is not marked. It may date back to the 19th century.

Condition: perfect.
