Presented is a fantastic large scalloped deep plate in Chinese porcelain. On a pure white cover, a decoration is hand-painted in polychromy in a famille verte palette, with mainly floral and fauna decoration. The large round shelf is painted with a pheasant with variegated plumage close to a peony, as well as an open peony in light violet. A second pheasant is half hidden behind a turquoise picket fence. There is also a sepia tree with a bird and a second one flying in the sky. We see a small red sun at the edge, still suggestive of the late Transition period. This area is bordered with two concentric circles in iron red. Via a narrow, steep elevation, the sign changes into a spacious, flat, upward sloping board with a scalloped edge. The edge and platform are divided into four zones by means of two parallel vertical lines. Springing behind rocky outcrops in blue and turquoise enamel with frogspawn green soil, we see multiple plants and foliage, peonies and chrysanthemums and poppy flowers (rare), with twice a bird and twice a large natural-painted butterfly, and scattered some smaller insects. Enamel colors used are blue, green, iron red, sepia, yellow, turquoise and black, compatible with a famille verte palette. A colorful color palette is thus applied, which nevertheless produces a calm-looking decor. The edge of the border is also delineated by two concentric wavy circles. The back is completely glazed except for the base ring. On the border there are three green foliage branches painted with peony. In the center, bordered by two concentric lines, a wormwood leaf is painted as an emblem, all in underglaze blue. This superb plate must be dated to the early Kangxi imperial period around 1670.

Condition: iron-red color slightly worn on the edge, impurities of the covering on the back, multiple hairlines professional restored.
