Meer informatie

Daum frères is, next to Emile Gallé, the most important name in the production of Art Nouveau glass in France around the 1900s. This glass factory in Nancy, Lorraine, succeeded in making an artistically refined mass production of glasses in addition to manufacturing unique examples. The latter did not become clichéd in series production and, in terms of decoration and material, retained the charm of the unique, handmade. There was a perfect relationship between art and industry. We present a superb glass vase from the art nouveau period made by the brothers Frères, Nancy France. It has a rounded rounded base that tapers into a cylindrical corpus with spreading rounded and conical neck and circular rim. The two-layer glass is coated inside and out with an acid-etched mottled flaky white ground color with purple inclusions. The lower body has an orange color between the two layers of glass, above which on the surface beautiful green leaves are enamelled with stems that follow the body and open into delicate purple violet flowers. The vase has a painted “Daum Nancy en croix de Lorraine” mark on the lower body. Nicely polished pontille at the bottom. This vase dates from around 1900-1910.

Condition: perfect.
