The object described is an antique Dutch octagonal wine cooler consisting of four wide (13 cm) and four narrower (10 cm) vertical surfaces in burr walnut veneer with a flat plateau at the top. Two gold-plated copper medallions with a round grip ring are attached to the side. At the bottom, the panels change into four S-shaped cabriole legs in oak with a sculpted widening at the top with C curls and in between a cloud-shaped intermediate element, also sculpted. At the bottom they change into a round foot with ball and claw feet. Fitting octagonal copper container with two copper rings at the top. Dates from around 1850.
Condition: good, copper tray is slightly torn at the bottom, the spherical claw feet have been sawn off at the bottom to be more level with the floor.
