Exceptional in white glazed porcelain slip cast mythological figure group of a drinking laughing drunken Bacchus with curly hair, seated on a large round wine barrel. He holds a cup in his right hand in his raised right arm. He is only dressed with a loincloth that turns into a claw at the bottom and also sideways to the right. A lion is sleeping in relief on his back on the left side. At the bottom right of the barrel is a grinning kneeling satyr who fills a ribbed wine bottle from the barrel. To the left of the barrel is a wine bottle ready together with a round stand. The moderately elevated base has a shell shape with a rocky outcrop with palmettes and extensive curling. The entire work is only covered with a moderately shiny greasy glaze. Unglazed base ring at the bottom with glazed base. In underglaze blue marked with the capital letter “F” for Fürstenberg 18th century. The glaze is also inscribed with “I IJ 5”. This is a very rare and fantastic group of figures !!

Condition: small crack at the bottom edge, otherwise perfect
