Shown is a beautiful porcelain tea set made by the East German manufacturer Kahla. It consists of a teapot with lid, a sugar bowl with lid, a milk jug and six bags and six round scalloped bottom bags. The bottom bags have a curl pattern in relief on the edge. They all have a beautiful rococo style with elegant handles. They are all beautifully hand painted with a floral pastel decor of flower bouquets in a gilded round scalloped cartouche. In addition, scattered gilded laurel leaves. Gilding is widely used. At the bottom they are marked in stamped green with the word “KAHLA” under a crown and this in a circle. This set can be dated around 1960.
Condition: inconspicuous chip on one of the bottom bags, otherwise perfect.
