Meer informatie
Shown are two identical glass oval candlesticks with bobèche (!), made by the glass factory of René Lalique in Wingen-Sur-Moder in France during the late Art Deco period around 1943 and called “Mésanges”. They are molded in clear glass, partly satin-finished and partly patinated in amber color. Made up of different parts hot melted. In the center they show a beautiful floral decor between which two birds (tits) move in opposite directions. The candlesticks stand on a hexagonal faceted flat clear base. At the top, the two bobeches have been preserved and are made of clear flat six-sided glass. They fit in a thick-walled opalescent six-sided amber patinated high neck. At the bottom of the foot, the candlesticks are diamond engraved with “R.Lalique France”. They were released around ca.1943.
