On display is an extraordinarily superb thick-walled glass vase made by the glass factory of René Lalique in Wingen-ur-Moder in France during the full Art Deco period. This vase is called “Ceylan” or “eight parakeet vase” or “budgerigar vase”. This tall cylindrical vase with a round, thick, slightly protruding clear rim is pressed into the mold in opalescent blue matt satin and partly clear glass, raised in relief with four (eight in total) parakeets looking at each other that have a blue patina and partly translucent in the middle. of floral stems. Their tail runs vertically downwards. At the bottom the vase wheel is engraved with “R. LALIQUE”. This vase was first released in 1924.
Condition: some signs of use at the bottom, some matte spots, otherwise perfect.
