Jean Lambert-Rucki “La Visite” 1924
with gilded frame: H 38.5 cm W 28.5 cm
Jean Lambert-Rucki (1888-1967) was born in Poland but moved to Paris in his 20s where he came into contact with Modigliani, Fujita and Jean Dunand, among others. He thus came into contact with Cubism, Art Deco and Surrealism. He painted many works in the same style as this work. Often this shows “the dog”. His figures and other motifs have a clear cubist character. We note that other works by him were referred to as “La Visite”.
Describing the current work is pointless. The photos show this in itself. Gilded frame. Top work!
In the lower left, the work is handwritten in the front with “J.Lambert-Rucki 1924”. On the back the work is hand-signed with “ATELIER J. LAMBERT-RUCKI” and with “LA VISITE”.
