On a raised square base with gilded band stands a beautifully detailed porcelain youth with knee-breeches with vertical colored stripes, white undershirt and light blue overcoat. The head is slightly turned to the right on which a black hat. He has a blush on both cheeks. He holds a bagpipe with both hands. He wears a small purse on his back. A large tree trunk rises at the back, against which the youngster leans. At the bottom the figurine is marked in underglaze cobalt blue with the crossed swords, and in the mold with model number “L81” and incised with shape number “G11”. To be dated between 1850-1880.

Condition: 2 glaze lesions on the hat, otherwise perfect.
