More information

A beautiful oil painting on panel is shown. It is painted in a Post-Impressionist style where a snapshot is rendered in a blurry way. The subject is most likely a Kempen landscape decor. At the front of the panel we see a large pond that narrows in the direction of a distant village. The two banks are connected by a slightly curved bridge. To the right of the set is a farm painted in the middle of undergrowth. A large tree is central to the panorama. In the center, the sky in the distance appears to be a light gray colour. The sky at the top seems closer and is brushed lightly yellow. Predominant colors are a light yellow, brown, green, blue, gray and white. In the lower left corner the work is signed by hand, “Aracin”??. I couldn’t find this name. The work is undated but I suspect it was made around 1900. The panel has a gilded rectangular frame with pearl work.
