A glass paperweight is an object that can be placed on top of papers on a desk to prevent them from being blown away. A paperweight is often made of glass, usually not too large, so it can be easily stored in a drawer. In earlier centuries, when the paperweight was a common utensil, the aim was often to make the object as aesthetically pleasing as possible. Today, the paperweight has fallen into disuse, but it is still made, but as an art object with no functional value.
