We show a rare standing timepiece made of patinated brass. As a base it has a hexagonal raised pewter element with symmetrical curling and with side walls in latticework, very baroque. Above is a hexagonal elevation, made of porcelain that is printed with polychrome flower branches. On this is a vertical upright made of patinated brass with a lot of curling from which a putto hangs. On top rests a round clockwork with brass carcass and a clockwork plate with arabesques. In a small rectangle is the name “Titanus”, a well-known Swiss watch manufacturer. Two black hands show the hours on the one hand, and the minutes on the other. The hours are applied all around in black Roman numerals. Green light-reflecting elements have been placed under the hours and inside the hands so that the time can also be read in the dark. At the back is a built-in manual winding mechanism. On the outside we see a winding dial, a turning element for moving the hands, a +/- to adjust the turning speed. This eclectically constructed timepiece was probably made during the Art Nouveau period, ca. 1910-20. It seems to me to be German in origin.

Condition: almost perfect with functioning mechanism that regularly stops. So I think revision is appropriate.
