Meer informatie

The object presented, with mythological subject matter, is a silver carriage pulled by a winged putto sitting in front on a shell-shaped open carriage. The latter shows remnants of vermeille. In front, the putto has a winged dragon in check via two chains that he holds in his left hand while raising his right arm. At the back of the sled we see the image of the goddess Medusa. The object has a manifest neo-rococo style. The object is marked at the bottom of the slide with a crescent moon, a crown, silver grade “800” and a master mark unknown to me. The half moon and crown do point to a German origin, that of the end of the 19th century. There is a significant degree of oxidation, but with a lot of patience this can be further polished.

Condition: apart from the oxidation in perfect condition, unusual for such a freel object.

Dimensions 9,5 × 6 cm
