An “angle plate” is a tool that serves to fix metal. It is made of high quality material so that movement or deformation is impossible. S.E.P. or Silver Electro Plated means that a thin layer of pure silver is applied to a metal via electrolysis. W.H. stands for William Hutton who started a silversmith in Sheffield in the early 19th century. His name is still preserved. W.H. & G Walker & Co were registered in 1906 as S.E.P .. The presented silver plated toast rack thus appears to have been made in Sheffield by the aforementioned firm, probably in the early 20th century. It has a six-way layout and has a hex handle at the top. It refers to the Gothic style. It is also marked with “AP30830”.

Condition: on the inside the silver is slightly worn away, and some minimal signs of wear, but overall in good condition.
