Meer informatie

Volkstedt is one of the most famous manufactures in the Thuringian territory, founded in 1760 by the Greiner family.

Presented is a monkey figure in hard porcelain, made by the contemporary Volkstedt Rudolstadt factory. The monkey is dressed in a white-rose shirt and a yellow shirt with a yellow jacket over it and he is wearing black shorts. He holds a gold-plated horn with both hands while playing it. It stands on an oval, slightly arched base with gilded C curls. At the back he leans against a tree trunk. The base ring is not glazed at the bottom, but the sunken base is. On it we see the underglaze stamped blue mark of the factory as it was used in the 20th century. The number “6” has also been pressed.

Condition: perfect.
