Meer informatie

Presented is an exceptional and very rare object in pâte de verre (glass paste) designed by Henri Bergé and executed by Amalric Walter. It is an inkwell with lid. The inkwell stands on a pentagonal raised base in slightly transparent green hue. The egg-shaped, heavy corpus has a dark shade of green as the ground color and is covered in relief with leaves in a duller green. The round, slightly raised edge has an irregularly embossed aspect with a deep orange color. The round, ribbed, ribbed dark green lid with a figure of a bee with black head, green wings and brownish horizontal black striped body fits into this. Lid and inkwell are polished smooth at the bottom. On two sides of the base it is signed with, on one side with “AWALTER Nancy”, and on the other side with “Bergé Sc”. This masterpiece can be dated around 1920.

Condition: some ink stains inside the rim of the inkwell (as expected, otherwise perfect. Absolutely top work!
