We present an exceptional painting on silk, made in China during the Qing dynasty, 19th century. Surrounded by a rectangular frame in beige woven cloth with geometric motifs, a rectangular painting has been made on silk. Numerous figures in a landscape decor have been brushed with black outlines on a light brown ground. These are largely washed with various pigment colours. The main decor is made on the right side. It concerns a noble lady at a desk painting silk scrolls. The most striking feature is her red robe. She is surrounded by six courtiers who offer her all kinds of objects: silk scrolls, a tea cup and saucer, a box, a melon, a fan and a pigeon with a water bowl. They all have a typical black Chinese hairstyle. The robes they wear stand out because of their diversity. In the foreground is a large tree with green leaves, standing in an open box with red pillars, painted. Several static-looking men are shown on the left. For example, we see an old sage with a student next to him, a guard with an axe, a cleric and a figure whose function is not clear. They are mainly filled with brown, gray and black, red and light blue-turquoise. They are in a large light brown field with an ornamental plant at the top with large blue-colored leaves that is also in a raised square container. This print can be dated from the 19th century. It is framed behind glass with a gilded rectangular edge.

Condition: minimal damage to the side at the bottom left, the frame has limited loss of gilding, overall in very good condition.
