We are showing a rare Chinese painting on silk, made during the Qing dynasty, 19th century. Inside a rectangular frame of woven cloth with geometric motifs, we see the rectangular painting on silk. All figures and objects are outlined in black color. Furthermore, they are washed by hand in various pigment colours. The main decor is of a noble lady surrounded by eight ladies-in-waiting, in a green veranda with red support beams. The noble lady wears a crown on her head and has a wide red colored robe with long wide blue sleeves. The ladies-in-waiting wear differently colored robes and carry various objects that they offer: a box, a fan, a melon, one carries a child in her arms, a red cloth and a scroll. One of the ladies-in-waiting invites the noble lady to go to the right. At the bottom left is a polychrome painted warrior with a hatchet. In the foreground on the left we see a large tree with green foliage sitting in an open box with red pillars. There is a large carpet in the center front. On the right we see two servants, one offering a kind of box to the other. This painting dates from the 19th century. It is framed behind glass with a frame with a gilt edge.
