We show two analogue Japanese porcelain wedding cups with lids. They have a cylindrical low base with two cobalt light blue circles. They widen into a cylindrical high corpus with a rounded edge. This fits a round, slightly raised lid with an egg-shaped handle. They are very translucent and thinly modeled like eggshell porcelain. Hand-stylized Ginkgo biloba leaves with fine stems are painted on the body and lid in light green and yellowish thick enamel. The leaves are sharply defined and have a striped aspect as a sign of a painter with a steady hand. The underside and fine foot ring are glazed light blue. A thick cobalt blue circular line has been painted under glaze at the transition between the foot ring and the bottom. In the center of the bottom, a mark consisting of three characters has been applied by hand on a light blue cobalt glaze. The meaning is unknown to me. These jars date from the 20th century, perhaps around 1970-80.

Condition: both perfect.
