Meer informatie

Born in Murano in 1935, Carlo Nason comes from one of the oldest families of glassblowers on the island. Early in his career, in the 1960s, he collaborated with the family glass factory V. Nason & C, creating several pieces that are in the collection of the Corning Museum of Glass, Corning New York. Between 1965 and 1980 he worked with the A.V. Mazzega di Murano, whose products, now out of production, are sold in numerous international auctions. He has collaborated with all the important companies in Murano, the Vetreria Vistosi, the Vetreria Carlo Moretti and the Vetreria Livio Seguso. Since the 1980s he has collaborated with the Firme Di Vetro Group in Salzano, with the De Majo glass factory in Murano and with Leucos in Salzano. We show a beautiful original unique Murano large slim black and white vase, or vase noir, “reticoli” model, made by the world famous glassmaker Carlo Nason from Murano. This vase is made of black glass that is overlaid with white spirals in white molten milk glass in relief. The vase has an extended pear-shaped body and stands on a flat base. The vase is pinched twice at the bottom. Towards the top the vase narrows to expand into two separate triangular, thick-walled projections at the top. The interior of the vase also shows the black color of the black glass. Etched at the bottom (difficult to read) with “Nason Murano Italia”. This vase dates from the A.V. Mazzega. production from around 1965-80. Unique item!

Condition: some scratches on the base, otherwise perfect.
