Meer informatie

We show a large, partly hand-modeled porcelain group of figures, made by the Passau factory during the Dressel Kister and Co. period of time. The sculpture consists of an amorous setting of a seated girl with a blue blouse and a floral ivory colored skirt and a standing gallant gentleman with a pink jacket, yellow undercoat and striped blue-green knee-breeches, around a large tree trunk with green foliage. The man holds a mandolin in both hands that rests on a large flat mushroom or old tree trunk. This whole stands on a round raised base with two white doves in high relief and which is made up of several volutes in relief that are gilded. Everything was painted by hand. The depiction has all the characteristics of neo-rococo, which was in vogue in the second half of the 19th century and also in the 20th century. At the bottom the biscuit base is embossed with the numeral “84278” and in cobalt blue with the bishop’s crosier or Crozier mark used during the Dressel Kister en Cie period (1907-1922). The statue can thus be dated around 1910-20.

Condition: perfect, almost all leaves are intact.
