Meer informatie

Presented is a pewter wine or water pitcher. The body consists of a narrowing raised round foot, becoming a widening concentric part that merges into a cylindrical neck. This section has been polished. At the top is a dull gray round lid with a point-shaped flared part that, together with a V-shaped protrusion on the body, forms the pouring spout. At the back of the lid begins the hinged section with vertical thumb mouse that includes an S- and C-shaped handle. This jug is made in baroque style and is also called “Rembrandt” jug. The jug is marked at the bottom with a small indented square in which “étain pur” is placed diagonally together with the letters “JB”. A gold-coloured label is attached to the base with the text “Modèle déposé” and “reproduction interdit”. The jug was most likely made in France, around 1960.

Condition: signs of wear, dents on the corpus, but otherwise in good condition.
