We present two quite rare Vieux Bruxelles oval lobed porcelain wedding vases made by the manufacturer Vieux Bruxelles, Belgium. The vases stand on a rocaille rococo base with relief volutes and shells and have an analogous border. The corpus is beautifully hand-painted in muffle colours. On one side we see a bowl filled with various fruits and a bird on the edge and three insects and gilded flower garlands. On the other side we see a brown colored fountain with two birds on it. Also two flower bouquets and two bunches of grapes. Gilded flower garlands here too. The sides have three separate panels with heavily gilt edges in high relief. Inside we see gilded branches and foliage. The vases are very richly gilded and have been well preserved. The underside is completely glazed white, apart from the foot ring. In the center of one vase we see the engraved number “2” and letter “e”. The other vase is engraved with the letters “e and v”. These vases date from the end of the 19th century.

Condition: minimal loss of gilding, otherwise perfect.
