Meer informatie

Volkstedt is one of the most famous manufactures in the Thuringian territory, founded in 1760 by the Greiner family.

Presented is a monkey figure in hard porcelain, made by the contemporary Volkstedt Rudolstadt factory. The monkey is dressed with a red shirt and light purple overcoat. He wears green shorts and a brown hat on his head. He plays the oboe, which he holds with both hands. It stands on an oval, slightly arched base with gilded C curls. The base ring is not glazed at the bottom, but the sunken base is. On it we see the underglaze blue mark of the factory as it was used in the 20th century. The number “4” has been pressed.

Condition: perfect
