We present a museum quality chandelier in hammered and patinated wrought iron (fer forgé martelé patiné) by and signed by Edgar Brandt! The 110 cm high chandelier has a central vertical axis with four slightly curved arms that meet at the bottom. Four straight double narrow bars depart from there. The largest compartment of the luster is hung at the ends by hooks. The large compartment is made up of four thick double-curved bars, which meet at the bottom, and where the outer part to which the hook is welded are connected to each other by means of an annular four-lobed outer ring. Between the bars there are two curved wrought iron bars that end in a C-shape. One is shorter, the other longer and four glass points of light with a conical shape are hung at the end. Between these rods there are fantastically elaborated branches and flower buds of the plant ginkgo biloba. The large load-bearing bars also have a large curved bar on the outside between each other, ending in a “C” on each side and attached to the outer ring in the center. Here too we see very finely elaborated twigs and blossoms of the ginko biloba. The four large supporting rods meet centrally to which the central and lowest U-shaped tronconic light point is attached. On the outside, the four large rods themselves also bear a U-shaped glass lampshade. So we arrive at a total of nine points of light. The acid-etched frosted frosted glass lampshades are hand-engraved on the outside at the bottom outside and signed in capital letters with “DAUM ‡ NANCY FRANCE”. On one of the large bars we see the mark “E. BRANDT ”debossed in low relief. The luster is in working condition. All nine light points are functioning. The wiring has been renewed. French socket type.

Perhaps the photos say more than this description. In any case, this is an absolutely very rare masterpiece by E. Brandt, the great gentleman of the “fer forgé”.

Condition: only the wiring has been renewed, otherwise in perfect condition, including all nine glass lampshades.
