Meer informatie

Presented is a beautiful Chinese sancai roof tile in the shape of a fish with a raised tail in earthenware painted with green, yellow, brown and white-creamy lead glazes. Beige-gray, coarse-grained shard. Dragon-shaped dark yellow head with green mouth, protruding eyes, green gills, and a yellowish with intersecting carved lines decorated raised body and curling tail. Attached to an oval-shaped base that rests on a semi-circular green glazed arch. The sculpture is embedded in a black-painted rectangular, stepped-up plinth with four small feet. Dating back to the Ming Dynasty.

Condition: at the back, the base on which the fish rests is partly broken off, some loss of glaze here and there, but overall still in very good condition and a rare original object.
