Meer informatie

Shown is a Chinese porcelain semi-spherical round bowl on a moderately high round base. The exterior is hand-painted on a light bluish-white covering in blue and white underglaze with a decoration of a long lotus plant behind a rocky outcrop. Some of the flowers are slightly gilded. On the back there is a simple blue lotus plant. There is also a small lotus plant on the bottom. There is a brown glazed lip. On the inside at the top there is a frieze of a continuous line with loops in iron red, enhanced with gold. Above it there is an iron red circular line. The space between the two lines is also gilded. The way of painting and the gilding and brown lip used suggest that this is Nanking blue and white export porcelain, dating back to the beginning 19th century, Chia-ch’ing imperial period.

Condition: several pits in the cover, otherwise good status.
