Meer informatie

Round deep thick-walled bowl of Chinese hard porcelain, on a fairly high base with flaring walls, turned by hand on the potter’s wheel, slightly shaded. Simple but beautiful hand-painted decoration of the outer wall in an underglaze blue and white decor under a light bluish white covering, in a light blue cobalt, of a lotus plant and a simple curly line. The edge has a border decoration of a frieze of triangles. At the bottom two parallel circular lines. In the inside we see two parallel concentric lines on the edge of the plateau and the edge is painted with the same. The round base ring is unglazed and is orange-red in color, created during oven firing, which indicates a Ming dynasty object. Not marked. Possibly Wanli or Transitional, possibly for the Japanese tea ceremony.

Condition: some baking flaws in the glaze, otherwise very good status.
