Here you see a rare early opaque pâte de verre (glass paste) figure of a seated Buddha, performed by the Daum Frères from Nancy France. A dark green gray figure of Buddha sits on a grass-green oval base. At the back of the base we see the engraved mark of “Daum Nancy” with the cross of Lorraine. Rare mark. The statue may have been executed by Amalric Walter who worked for the Daum brothers before 1914, before he started working after the first World War I. founded his own studio. Rare and early figurine!
