It is a faience oval contoured dish, hand painted on a light gray-white cover. In the center a decoration of a pink flowered handle basket on a green base on which a pink rooster is seated, surrounded by green foliage. The transition-elevation board is painted with alternating concave and convex curls, also in pink color. The border is largely unpainted. The lip is in burgundy color. This is a “Strasbourg flower” style decor.  Fully glazed at the back with flat base. Traces of unglazed lines. Signed with “France” in black above glaze and the letters “CH” or “GM” in blue under glaze, standing for Geo Martel who worked during the first half of the 20e century..

Condition: very good, some black dots.
