Meer informatie
Shown is a spherical vase made of stoneware or grès, during the Art Deco period. It stands on a flat octagonal base and widens spherically, divided into eight vertical panels, broad at the bottom and center and narrowing at the top. They are alternately left blank, revealing a creamy white glaze, and panels that have been hand-painted overglaze in cobalt blue with a stylized symmetrical geometric floral pattern with curled stems. The glaze is slightly crackled. At the top, the vase has a narrow, round, curved rim. The vase is marked in low relief at the bottom with “St France” and the numbers “723”. This was used by St. Clèment in the early years of the Art Deco period. It can be dated around 1925.
Condition: some signs of age, otherwise good condition.
