Meer informatie
The Muller brothers are French glass makers from the Art Nouveau period. The family has nine talented members, including Eugène, Désiré and Henri. Henri receives his training from Gallé but in 1897 he leaves it with many secret notes. He founds his own studio in Croismare near Lunéville where he will collaborate with his other brothers, his sister and his father. His production is a direct competitor of Gallé. The style gradually evolved towards Art Deco from the 1920s onwards. From 1919 onwards they signed “Muller Frères Lunéville” when they bought the Hainzelin factory in Lunéville.
Shown is a large red-colored chalice-shaped cloudy vase with a wide circular rim on a semi-spherical dark-blue base. Different color powders in dark blue are inlaid on a fire-red background. Intercalary silver spots have been applied on both sides. At the bottom we see a beautifully polished pontille on which the number “908” is written later. On the front at the bottom of the chalice there is the acid-etched mark “MULLER Fres FLUNEVILLE” but also with (possibly later) inscribed “Muller Fres Lunéville”. Can be dated around 1920-30. Beautifully translucent with lighting.
Condition: signs of wear and streaks, but no cracks or pieces. It remains a beautiful decorative vase, especially with lighting
