Sold is a beautiful antique rectangular painting in oil on canvas. It concerns a market scene with many horses with riders or with servants holding them, and with some merchants in turban. We also see a farrier at work and some dogs. Most notable are three white horses in the foreground. All around we see some high buildings, one with a canopy. Also a tree, with horses and riders arriving in the background, and a hilly landscape with houses in the distance. The sky is blue and brownish with clouds. The work is not signed as far as I can see. It has a recent rectangular gilded frame. At the back we see a smaller 19th century (?) Frame with wooden oak panels. The work is over. Possibly dating back to the 2nd half of the seventeenth century. Presumably Flemish or Italian school.

Condition: blurred, more recent framework, restorations, beautiful decorative canvas that is fun to explore.
