Presented here are two round deep saucers that were part of a complete Dutch dinner service. This service with a Chinese shape and European decor belongs to the Chine de Commande. It was hand-painted on European demand during the (later) Chien Lung period and is a coat of arms decoration. This was certainly ordered with regard to the marriage of two noble persons of Holland. On the light blue covering we see two coats of arms united by a kind of Louis XVI bow with a gilded crown on top of a column with nine pearls. At the bottom left we see a rectangle in which the gilded intertwined initials “GCFDCZ” and on the right a lion with a raised paw, this on a light green background. All this is surrounded by an oval garland, above which a bow in light green with gilded tassels. In the elevation there are four flower motifs and the steep edge is painted all around with garlands. The edge shows a gilded red edged sawtooth pattern, circled by a red line at the top. The lip itself is also gold plated. The back is glazed except for the base ring of a low base. The objects are not marked.

Condition: very small baking flaws in the cover, but otherwise in perfect condition.
