Presented are two identical Chinese miniature bags and saucers in eggshell porcelain. The central flat circular surface of the saucer is hand painted on a bright white cover with a stylized floral decor in yellow, purple and black outlined green. This is bordered by a thin black circle around which externally alternating green, blue and yellow stylized leaves that are also outlined in black. We see a direct transition to a steep, flat octagonal border in which eight gate-shaped elements with a honeycomb pattern in brown, with alternating four- and five-lobed flowers in purple in the center. They are framed in green. The edge has a diamond pattern on a yellow ground. The lip is outlined in pure white. The back, except for the fine round base ring, is completely glazed with a clear white covering. The miniature teacup is also octagonal, sloping upwards and with a lobed rim. The outside has the same decor as the saucers. On the inside we see a light purple frieze of small stylized flowers on the edge and the center is decorated with the same floral motif as on the shelf of the saucers. All this is hand painted on a snow white covering. There is a high degree of translucency. Both objects are presented on a wooden stand. This exceptional duo of cups and saucers is dated to the Yongzheng imperial period of the Qing dynasty, c. 1730.
