Meer informatie

Devez, pseudonym for Camille Trutrié de Varreux, was artistic director of the Cristallerie de Pantin “Strumpf, Touvier, Viollet & Cie” from 1907. Between 1908 and 1910, the best productions are made. Often it concerns cameo glassware with mountain and sea landscapes, animals, flowers where the perspective is displayed excellently with great attention to detail. Between 1907 and 1914 it is signed with Devez with a stripe underneath. The factory closes in 1925. This very beautiful baluster-shaped vase with a slender cylindrical neck is made in cameo in a monochrome green with varying shades in a degraded perspective. The detail is excellent. Two layers of glass have been applied to a matt background with green powder inclusions. Shown is an acid-etched lake landscape with two sailboats and foliage on shoulder and neck. At the bottom the vase is signed in cameo relief with “Devez with stripe”. Dating from around 1908-10. Top job!

Condition: scratches on the bottom, otherwise perfect
