What we see here is a miniature night light consisting of a semi-spherical thick-walled glass shade and a wrought iron base that has three separate legs, at the top with three attachment points for the shade, merging into vertically adjacent rods to spread out at the bottom into three points of support. The electrical part with lamp and wire is incorporated at the top. The glass shade has a light yellow background with orange accents with one overlaid glass layer from which a decoration of three butterflies has been obtained through acid etching. The name “Gallé” is also acid-etched without underlining and with Latin “E” written in cameo. It can be dated around 1900. In any case, this remains a rare object that is more than welcome in his collection for a Gallé enthusiast.
Condition: perfect, working condition.
