Presented is a very elegant small baluster-shaped vase, created by Emile Gallé, Nancy, France. It is made in cameo glass, with a yellow-orange gray background on which a wheel engraved floral decoration has been applied in dark brown cameo with extra emphasis on the veins of the leaves. At the bottom, this decor transforms into an almost black circular base. At the top, between two leaves, the piece is signed in cameo wheel engraved with an early “EGalle” mark, with the “e” in Roman spelling. Smoothly polished pontille at the bottom and the remains of a paper glued label on which a letter “E” can be read and the number “7/31” is handwritten. Early rare object!
