Meer informatie

Macku Michal was born in Czechoslovakia in 1963 and has been interested in photography from an early age. Since 1992 he has worked as a freelance photographer. He himself developed a procedure that he calls “gellage” (combination of gelatin and collage), which consists of removing the fixed photo-sensitive emulsion from a photo from its original base and applying it to a transparent gelatin layer on photographic paper. can subsequently be physically manipulated and re-modeled. He usually uses photos of his own body. Each work is original. His gellages are limited to an edition of 12 per work. They are also referred to as “print graphics-multiple graphics”. The offered work was bought by me from the Czech artist during the Photo Festival in Turnhout in 2006. It was written by him on paper (see photo) and is the work with number AP1, “épreuve d’artist”. The work shows several naked male bodies in face. At the bottom right, the work is stamped with his logo “MICHAL MACKU” and hand-signed. It is not numbered but it will be numbered by him on his written sales note as AP1. The work is set in a passe-partou and framed behind glass. So absolutely top work by an artist who is now world famous in the world of photographic art. He exhibits worldwide.

Condition: perfect.
